World water week-and Caritas India JEEVIKA efforts in MP to make water possible!

Water is the source of life, but almost 800 million people don't have access to clean drinking water. The United Nations has declared that safe and clean drinking water is a human right. Yet almost one billion people still drink contaminated water every day"-Hindustan Uniliver Limited!

and it is said that next world war would be on water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is world water week going on... and we all know how much water is important for all of us. A report from The world Bank states that 1 in 7 people lacks access to clean drinking water-Is this not disturbing all of us? Indeed we all get disturbed with these figures but hardcore reality is that these figures are sample based , having a thorough survey may result in 1 person out of 20-25 having access to clean water..realities are different..hard and pinching!

In Madhya Pradesh situation is more worse , some of the old data ( based on Caritas India baseline status in some pockets of Madhya Pradesh) shows that out of 8 only 1 person has access to drinking water..imagine situation....no drinking wtaer...for accessing drinking water walk up to average 2.2 kms......at some places instances been noticed for drinking sewage water...yes things are difficult....and with these difficult situation Caritas India with its JEEVIKA programme intervened in Madhya Pradesh in Oct 2012 and some of the key areas covered for water-Drinking are as:
