Maize is essentially a warm weather, kharif crop and as such is largely dependent upon the rains. There are three distinct seasons for the cultivation of maize, the main season in kharif. In most parts of India, Maize during the kharif season is sown with the break of mansoon. Jeevika team promoted maize mostly maximum in our field area to cover the maximum family because maize crop production is highest as compared to rice and wheat as wel as this crop is very popular in poor community but Maize is sensitive to drought are important, so generally one, two or three crops cultivation is possible in the rotation. Maize crop is very beneficial and increase their income and gain more opportunity in kharif season crops by using the vegetable in the intercropping pattern between maize.
To know the importance of this crop is very so,We have organised one day training program for staff , where in Project Coordinator of JEEVIKA JDSSS Jabalpur Mr. Rajash has trained staff technically on Maize cultivation topic in reporting month at JDSSS Zonal office Kumardu. In this training program, we covered all topic of Maize cultivation methodology. This program hs helped the staff in improving knowledge and capacity building to organize village level training.
