Promotion of sustainable agricultural practices through organic vermin compost units is something Caritas India JEEVIKA development initiative accentuates in inculcating in the practice of small and marginalized farmers in Ujjain ( through KRIPA Ujjain partner organization) in technical support and linkages with KVK. With the organic manure farmers are able to reduce input cost by 20-30% and also improving soil health. This is beginning in Ujjain by Caritas India JEEVIKA development initiative, probably in future more sustainable methods for sustainable agriculture would be introduced and cost of input would be brought down to 60-70% from the present cost.
Now people have started making organic pits in their backyard and also doing kitchen garden with the manure.
