JEEVIKA team of JDSS-Jabalpur has organised a one day orientation programme on “BPL Women Self Help Group” on 26th Nov 2012 at Umariya field office for the JEEVIKA project team. The uniqueness of the programme was that rather than someone from outside would orient; team has involved those who all are the part of women self help group and get oriented with them. It has given them an interesting learning, not only to understand the SHG concept but to feel the inner politics, dynamics and complex relation in SHG.
Also this orientation has not only finished here it will be an ongoing process in the form that the JEEVIKA team meber will first of all visit some of the SHGs in the near by villages , would spend some time in there meeting, would learn from them and and then would start working on SHG formation.
Important here is not only to learn how to form SHGs, but to feel how to sustain SHGs!
