JEEVIKA Umariya team has facilitated the formation of farmers club on 17/12/2012 in Barhai JEEVIKA project village, Barhai Panchayat. The uniqueness of the facilitation was that it’s a first farmers club in the district with a female leadership (Source: www.nabard.org ). The selected president of farmers club is Ms. Putto and community members are calling her as Putto didi! Ms. Putto has 2acre of land on her name and is actively engaged in cultivation of vegetables and food crops.
With this there is a new beginning of giving identification to the women farmners in the tribal pockets like Umariya in Madhya Pradesh.
