Training on Income generation Activity@JEEVIKA Shehore

Purpose of activity: To proved information of various trades of Income generation.

To motivate for taking up IGP Programme

To provide technical information and importance of IGP.

Facilitation by: Bhagatram Dayma, the Project Coordinator, Mritunjay Pandey,Field coordinator, Suresh Kumar,Omprakash,Bahadur singh and Sayama,cluster coordinator.

JEEVIKA team found out some points from much discussion and field visit, for example, people are not aware about IGP and they are not showing interest in additional income generation programme and that they are only depended on labour work. So, because of this, their standard of living is very poor. Jeevika team decided to provide motivational and technical training programme for our target community and jeevika team conducted a training on Income generation Activity on 16th of May 2014, started with a prayer “ Itani Shakti Hame de na Data Man Ka vishvas Kamjor hona” . After that Mr. Bhagat Ram dayma ,the Project Coordinator welcomed all the participants for the programme, followed by , Mr. Dinesh Thakur, Guest speaker facilitated on various trades of income generation in brief. He said that the need to go for motor winding, motor Bike repairing, mobile repairing, bicycle repairing, tailoring for men and women, as well as he also briefed that people how can learn and how can start this type of income generation Programme in their localit. While motivating, he told that how can youth make their future in this field. During the second session, Bhagat Ram dayma, the Project Coordinator and Mritunjay pandey, the field coordinator had a discussion with participants regarding their need to go for it.

Key points discussed:

Who are called youth? Participants gave answer that who are 18 years old and above. After giving answer, Mr. Bhagat replied that we can call that person youth, who want to do something differently in life, who wants to bring change, who think positively, who is helpful for other person)

What is youth’s career choice.

Why do you want career in electrician field (Participant gave ans. Because we can make our future and we can increase our income and support our family )

Girls/women how can do tailoring work and can become self dependent.

Women can take initiative in fertilizer cultivation and can support her husband in farming.

Women/girls can start small skill business.

After that, Jeevika team gave award to youth and women for their good works, support to Jeevika team and management. Before concluding the programme, Jeevika team took feedback. After this training, youth are awarded and motivated for following skilled income generation programme. Youth will take initiative for taking skill training as well as they are showing interest in skill training. 35 youth were present there and this programme.

Result: 15 youth have decided to take training and take up IGP.

Participant gained more information about various trades of skilled IGP.
