Jeevika Indore..Effective leadership

At village Chasiya and Naharkhodra of Khurda cluster there are about 200 small farming families. They were getting irrigation water for the winter crops every year, through a canal from a reservoir. Lately the canal was choked with mud and silt. So the water was diverted to other canals due to which the farmers of Jeevika target villages Chasiya and Nahakhodra were not getting it for cultivation. The farmers approached our Cluster Coordinator Mr. Kailash Dawar with this issue. He together with 20 farmers of both the villages approached the local irrigation authorities with the complaint. Having found no positive response from the ………, the Jeevika coordinator invited the local media (Naiduniya) reporter who highlighted this issue in the local news. As a result authorities from District irrigation department came to observe the problem and the canal was cleared from mud and silt with JCB machines. On the following day the water started freely flowing down to the last farmer of Naharkhodra and Chasiya village. It is a remarkable achievement of taking leadership for the benefit of the community.
